Creating contexts, inspiring communication. Ideas for primary learners.

Whether it’s motivating, memorable, clear or just crazy, providing our young learners with a suitable context for understanding and practising language can make all the difference. In this session we’ll be adding twists to our course book material, weaving in meaningful contexts for routines and considering how to change pace and vary challenge in our lessons with student inspired ideas.

Andrea Littlewood has been teaching since 1985. She is involved in the Young Learners teacher training courses at International House Madrid where she works as a school Coordinator and is a speaker at ELT conferences. Andrea is co - author of the primary course books Twister 1 and 2. She’s particularly interested in vocabulary learning and the importance of motivation
