Be like a flower!
"Be like a flower, survive the rain but use it to grow"
So, the saying goes. In this plenary, I will share some lessons learned during the last two years, and propose four ways in which the field of English Language Teaching may change in the immediate future. I will also share strategies to help teachers transition the changes that will certainly impact our field in the near future.
Dr. Gabriel Diaz Maggioli is a teacher who applies the lessons
learned in the classroom to his roles as teacher educator, researcher,
and author. At present, he works as Academic Advisor to the Institute of
Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay, where he also directs the
Post-graduate Diploma in Teaching English. The author of more than 25
books and many academic articles, Gabriel has been fortunate to be able
to share his theory-in-praxis with colleagues in the Americas, Europe,
the Middle East and Asia. Gabriel is the current President of IATEFL.
