21st century skills: from LOTS to HOTS

Can we, as teachers, help our learners think critically, analyse and solve problems, thus helping them to develop higher-order thinking skills? Can Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) be learnt? How?

These are the questions we will be investigating in this workshop. Together, we will be looking at tasks and activities that optimise students’ acquisition of Higher-Order Thinking Skills, and how Portal to English Split can facilitate the acquisition of HOTS.
